New events for Maryland Sheep and Wool
Maryland Sheep and Wool Prep School
April 25th or 27th: Get geared up for the trip to Maryland Sheep and Wool! If you are taking the bus consider signing up the Prep Course. Learn to plan your shoping to maximize time by being organized in advance. Know your favorite patterns, gauge specifications and yardage requirements from the get go and also prepare in advance to buy enough impulse yarn so you don't stash without purpose. For instance, if you are a sucker for natural colored sheepswool know in advance how many yards you need for a basic sweater/vest/shawl/afghan. Also learn how to calculate wraps per inch (ends per inch or epi) into gauge for yarn that doesn't have a gauge listed. We'll also fill you up with other useful info like "don't forget the sunscreen!" Free for anyone signed up on the Rosie Bus $10 for all others.
Rosie's Wine and Wind Party
What better excuse to get together and show off your Sheep and Wool purchases? Come by Rosie's and use one of our many ball winders we will have set up and wind up your Maryland skeins. Also, get a little help or direction in figuring out what to do with the stuff now you've brought it home. Will you have enough to make what you want? Need to borrow some needles to sit and sip and swatch? It'll be great! Wine and snack provided.
