Our next Project Class starts just a week from today and spots are limited:

“Now that you know the basics, it’s time to move on to a larger project. What type of project you make is up to you, be it a blanket, sweater, lace shawl, etc- the teacher will help find a great pattern that will be easy to follow and work through for your first big project. At the first class, we will finalize your project, yarn selection, and needle size. What you’ll learn: How to pick a well written pattern, choose the right yarn for your pattern, measure gauge, read patterns, block, and assemble — depending on your specific project. Please have beginning knitting skills such as how to cast on, knit, and purl. * $75, materials not included. Mondays starting 2/27

If you’re completely new to knitting or even if it’s been a few years and you’re a little rusty, try our next Beginner Class, which starts on March 6.

This is the introductory class for those who’ve never held needles, or for anyone who needs a refresher and wants a more thorough grounding. This isn’t just a “learn to cast on and knit” class, it’s an intensive 6-week class which teaches you not just how to knit and purl, but also how to read a pattern, measure for size, knit in the round and on double pointed needles, and how to decrease. By the end, you’ll be able to jump right into our project class! $125, materials included. Tuesdays starting 3/6

We’re also offering a few workshops over the coming months. Our first workshop is on March 4 and offers an Introduction to Colorwork.

You’ve heard the words fair isle and intarsia and chances are you’ve been intimidated. Never fear! It’s not as hard as it looks and in one afternoon we’ll have you changing colors like a pro! This is your chance to take the next step and learn how to work with multiple colors at the same time to create a one of a kind design! $40 materials included. Sunday, March 4 1pm-5pm.

And our second spring workshop is an Introduction to Lace Knitting.

Sure it looks amazing but it’s not as tricky as you’d think! Come to our Intro to Lace workshop and you’ll learn the basics of lacework and see for yourself how easy it can be! $35 materials included

As some of you may know an oil spill off the east coast of  New Zealand’s North Island has contaminated the feathers of  Blue penguins native to the region. In an effort to keep the penguins from preening, provide warmth and incidentally make them even more adorable than they already are, knitters around the world have banded together to knit 100% wool penguin sweaters.
