This is the softest wool I've ever felt. (Hmm, now that you mention it, I bet it would felt beautifully, too.) It's a chainette construction, so it looks a little like a hollow tube, and the yardage is wild: 163 yards per 50-gram ball, which isn't that unusual--if the yarn is fingering-weight. But this is a solid 5-stitches-to-the-inch; it's just light as a feather. The colors shift slowly and irregularly, like that other popular Japanese wool, but here the range is subtler (and did I mention that this yarn is soft?). Great for any place you want stripes. Regular price: $15.50 per skein. $.50 shipping.
Top row, l to r: 210 pale pinks, 212 rose shrimp, 211 golds, 205 orange green. Each skein is $15.50, plus $.50 shipping; |
