The price isn't low--$26 per 8-oz. skein--but 600 yards is a lot to work with: one skein will make a luxurious hat and scarf or perhaps a shawl. Gauge is widely variable; you could try a #8 needle and expect a very loose 4 sts to the inch, or take it all the way down to a #5 and look for 5.5 sts or more.
