The 50% organic cotton/ 50% organic merino wool yarn is quite appropriate for transitional projects. The suggested gauge is 5 stitches to the inch on a US 7/4.5mm needle, but it looks like it knits up beautifully at 5.5-6 stitches per inch on a US 5-6 needle as well.
