La Gran from Classic Elite is absolutely an industry standard, the classic brushed mohair. (For maximum “hairyness”, brush the finished piece lightly with a wire-bristled hairbrush or pet rake.) Mohair takes dye brilliantly, and the fiber is naturally shiny, so the yarn has a wonderful depth of color–and, with over 40 solids, quite a bit of breadth!
